Dear Second Grade Families,

Thank you to all that were able to attend yesterday’s Second Grade Inside Scoop meeting.  I enjoyed our chat and I hope you found it helpful.  I have attached the video for those that might be interested in viewing the meeting.  I have also listed the websites below that we discussed. I am working on the “My Math” curriculum website.  It is a little more complicated than I thought.  I will forward that information as soon as I receive it.   Just a side note on our STEM class.  We are not creating a second class for STEM, as I stated yesterday.  We are adding a second teacher to the class to help with the numbers.  Mrs. Fouts will be teaching the class every Wednesday.  Mrs. Hornbeck and Mrs. Demas will alternate weeks assisting Mrs. Fouts in the classroom.  I’m sorry for this confusion.  Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

Dear Families,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2015!  I hope you had a fabulous holiday break.  It was so good to see all our kiddos yesterday!  They all seemed happy and ready to come back to school.

Over the Winter Break, the district made some changes to our parking lot near the kindergarten playground.  These changes were made for the safety of our Kindergarteners, under advisement from the district facilities department.  We now have a designated area for Kindergarteners to be dropped off safely near their playground.  The unfortunate piece is that we lost several parking spots, but that had to be counter-balanced with keeping our students as safe as possible.  I know this makes parking a bit more challenging, but I hope you understand the need for this change.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Our Playground Project is coming along.  The fence blocking half of the playground has been removed and just the area for the new playground equipment is fenced.  Our kids are excited to have their playground back!  We are in the final stages of equipment selection and hope to have everything installed by springtime.  Please watch my blog and the PTO Newsletters for more details!
